After betraying Shaolin, the Shaolin traitor Han (Shi Jian) buys an island to transform it into a private kingdom. 少林叛徒韓先生（石堅 飾）背叛少林後，斥資買下一座小島將其改造成私人王國，韓先生及一干手下在島上制販毒品，強迫女性賣淫，警方欲將其繩之以法卻苦無證據。少林高徒李（李小龍 飾）的功夫已經超越有形境界，他受師傅與政府請託，準備參加三年一度由韓先生主辦的比武大會。比武大會期間，是登陸孤島蒐集證據的唯一機會。同時韓先生的私人保鏢熬加達曾經殺害了李的姐姐，是李恨之入骨的仇人。比武大會的邀請發出，世界各地選手紛紛聚集，有債務纏身的魯柏、勇於對抗不公的威廉士等人與李一同登島決一雌雄。李找到了政府在島上安插的情報員美玲，在後者的幫助下，李與各路選手以及韓先生展開了一場龍爭虎鬥。
