The story depicts a father, Jiang Zhihuan, who caused a tragedy due to endless greed, which made the fate of his two daughters, Li Haiyin and Jiang Shina, completely different. The meaning of the title of the play seems to depict"Tianlun" on the surface, but Lu Zhenmei wants to convey that family, friends, lovers, master and apprentice, colleagues, or even bad karma are all precious destinies, and if they can establish a good relationship with others, that would be the happiest thing.

故事描繪一名父親姜治煥因無盡的貪婪而造成悲劇，使得兩個女兒——李海茵與姜世娜——的命運從此截然不同；李海茵懷著恨意展開復仇戰，姜治煥也無情地反擊女兒，姜世娜則為保護父親而與李海茵對峙。最終，通過不同人物的視角，領悟天倫之愛的真諦。汶川大地震發生時，呂貞美看見關於一位母親為保護孩子，而支撐倒牆到最後的文章，這令她感嘆天倫的力量何其偉大，於是決定描繪一個宏狀因緣的故事。呂貞美想藉由本劇，描述追求幸福的權利時，也必須考慮到他人的幸福；即使是家人，也要懂得尊重、負責、感謝與設身處地。劇名的含義，表面看似刻畫「天倫」，但呂貞美想傳達無論是家人、朋友、戀人、師徒、同僚，或甚至是惡緣，都是寶貴的緣分，若能和他人建立良好的關係，那會是再幸福不過的事。
